not hiding apps in launcher.

i'm using ubuntu 18.10 and i just installed it ti hide some things that stuck around after i installed then uninstalled a game in wine, and i'll turn off "show in launcher" and hit save, but it doesn't work. when i used this app in 18.04 LTS the other day it worked fine. is this an 18.10 issue, or did i mess something up in installation? and in addition to that issue, the title bar of the app is transparent, which i saw someone else mention in an issue.
