emacs version 26.2 glyphs not rendered/properly rendered in mode-line or buffer

I've installed all-the-icons in emacs via MELPA and added (use-package all-the-icons) in the init (~/.emacs). The mode-line and buffers fail to display glyphs properly both in the GUI and terminal. See the attached screenshot of the mode-line for reference:

Would perhaps the font I use for the terminal/GUI be of any significance? What other details are required?

EDIT: it's apparently only alltheicons and some of the octicons that aren't rendering. image4 image5

This happened to me too, when I've decided to reinstall fonts.
