MacBookPro 5,3 (15-inch, Mid 2009) unsupported?

Please include the following information.

• OS Version: 10.14
• Mac model: MacBookPro 5,3 (15-inch, Mid 2009)
• Dongle or replaced card?: Dongle
• Used dongle/card: GMYLE USB Dongle, Bluetooth 4.0

Your Issue:

Before trying to install CAT I noticed that OS profile doesn't detect Handoff and Instant Hotspot Support using GMYLE Bluetooth USB Dongle (see Screenshots below). Tried installing CAT despite the compatibility checks (See below). When it boots, it goes to Kernel Panic and loops. This has worked before on Yosemite

Steps done to try to fix the issue:

- Installed CAT on Mojave (with dosdude1 patcher). - Syntax errors and can't back up Kexts during installation. - Reboots Mac but Kernel Panic and loops.

I tried to manually activate continuity from one of the sourced forums BUT from the looks of it, the kexts have changed significantly (IO80211Family and IOBluetoothFamily). Tried the following things:

- Delete the AirPortBrcm4331.kext from IO80211Family.Kext but would leave me "No Wifi Hardware Installed". - change the false value in the SystemParameters.plist located in the IOBluetooth.framework; no luck - Also tried to manually patch the BT 4.0 binary patch according to the script inside the CAT tool using: usbBinaryPatchFindEscaped13="\x48\x85\xFF\x74\x47\x48\x8B\x07\x48\x8D\x35" #hexadecimal sequence to replace in the the IOBluetoothFamily binary usbBinaryPatchReplaceWithEscaped13="\x41\xBE\x0F\x00\x00\x00\xE9\x36\x00\x00\x00" #replacement hexadecimal sequence for the IOBluetoothFamily binary

but no luck.

If someone could point me in the right direction, it seems like an issue with MacBookPro 5,3.
