Installed CAT on early 2011 MBP 15, AirDrop is perfect, SMS Forwarding also, but Handoff...?
- OS Version: Sierra 10.13.5
- Mac model: MPB 15" Early 2011
- Dongle or replaced card?: Dongle
- Used dongle/card: GMYLE card
Your Issue: Handoff not working between Mac/iPhone
Steps done to try to fix the issue: Rebooted devices, cried?
Hi everyone - So I finally got around to setting up the CAT on this mac and it's working beautifully for a majority of the functions, the text forwarding and AirDrop were the most important, but I was really looking forward to having handoff working, even though it's a lower priority.
I've seen comments that it can take a few hours or require logging out/in from iCloud - That last step is one I'm slightly remiss to do just because of all that goes on when that happens, but if that's the must do step then so be it.
Is there something else I might be missing before I go through that or something that's possibly happening to cause this?
Thanks in advance!
A bit of follow up - I was testing this a bit more with iOS 12, I can air drop TO the Mac, it had stopped and I needed to reboot to get it back up and going, but I cannot see any iOS 12 devices in the airdrop option FROM the Mac.
Wonder if this has to do with only using a dongle and not replacing the Wifi card?
It's odd - I have had no issues with doing text forwarding, which I think requires Handoff/Continuity.
I see you got CAT working on 10.13.5, which I have been trying without success. Would you mind taking a look at my issue at it here? Sorry if that is off-topic!
