CAT in Late 2008 MacBook w MacOS Sierra (installed using Patch Tool)
- OS Version: macOS Sierra 10.12 (installed with dosdude1 sierra patch tool)
- Mac model: MacBook late 2008 unibody
- Dongle or replaced card?:GMYLE Bluetooth Adapter Dongle, Ultra-Mini USB Broadcom BCM20702
I tried installing the Continuity Activation Tool AFTER I had upgraded to MacOS (Sierra) using dosdude1's macOS Sierra Patch Tool. I have GMYLE Bluetooth Adapter Dongle, Ultra-Mini USB Broadcom BCM20702. System diagnostics showed dongle was fully supported Activation tool ran smoothly but after reboot, boot hung. I wonder if activation tool broke the changes made by sierra patch.
I reinstalled MacOS and got it back to booting and working fine. I wonder how I can install CAT in my situation
I am having the same issue. Any fixes for this?
did you try with a clean install of Sierra or did an update? I did a clean one and today I want to try CAT; did you have the same kernel panics in El Capitan?
I had updated to Sierra and installed CAT afterwards. I wasn't aware of CAT tool until 3 weeks ago so I have no experience with older OSX versions
- OS Version: macOS Sierra 10.12 (installed with dosdude1 sierra patch tool) - updated later to 10.12.1 with AUSEnabler
- Mac model: MacBook late 2008 unibody
- Dongle or replaced card?: ASUS BT-400 Dongle
I tried to install CAT beta 2.4b4. The whole process went smooth and ok, but when rebooting the system freezes at 90% and finally return a kernel panic. SIP still deactivated. I tried it before the update to SIERRA in EL CAPITAN 10.11.6 with CAT 2.3. No success either.
Any clue in how to fix this problem?
I'm having the same issue on my MBP mid 2009 with macOS Sierra updated using the patch tool. Did anyone have any success so far?
