Hi there. Please attach the dxvk log that appears next to the games exe.

Edit: You mean it doesn't work even with dxvk removed?

IIRC, DXVK is bundled with the game, so you can use -vulkan to enable it. I think you need the launch option even if you install DXVK from github, because Valve Anti-Cheat may not like you injecting DLLs without it knowing prior what you are trying to do.

I also encountered this problem, and the generated log is empty. I also tried adding startup items (I used translation software).

You have to rename and replace dxvk_d3d9.dll (32bit) from Left 4 Dead\bin folder then launch the game with -vulkan param (it ships DXVK 2.0 rn so updating makes sense)

For me, L4D2 is launching and working with DXVK 2.7 (the latest for now). I have the same GPU and almost the same video driver as TS, but Windows 10 only. If something is wrong, try to delete outdated cache file and be sure you placed "d3d9.dll" near to "left4dead2.exe" in the main game folder. It's the way in case you don't use an embedded parameter for launching the game with DXVK, otherwise you need to follow to instructions from the above comments.
