GTA IV has the system mouse cursor stuck over the game after bringing the Steam overlay up and down

The cursor won't go away until the game is restarted. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't.

The problem is still present under DXVK 1.9.3. Curiously, the Rockstar and ReShade overlays don't seem to cause issues.

Yep, the issue is still present.

Don't expect this to get fixed.

It's been there too long to be expecting anything.

steam overlay has been a source of constant joy and happieness for the longest time, so you may want to disable it?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

as of 2024 DXVK version 2.3.1 issue is still present. Opening and closing steam overlay while game is running in windowed borderless, makes system mouse cursor be always present on screen. Only possible workaround is to run the game in fullscreen.

DXVK has no interaction with the Steam Overlay in this way. This would probably be a Steam bug.
