Controls Freeze After AutoFocus - Canon 550D

I'm using a Canon 550D with this and everything seems to work flawlessly (All of the settings can be changed, although ISO changes seem to be the only adjustments that aren't reflected on the camera screen itself) until I click the 'Autofocus...' dropdown in the Mac menubar. The camera will successfully autofocus, but then any settings changes done after that do not take effect.
