Problems
After about one hour of operation the camera starts to shut down in varying intervals (from 5min to 20min).
If there is something I should try for you, let me know.
@dognotdog is there anything I can do to help with this issue of the camera freezing after 30-60min? I could try to gather diagnostics or so.
@b-studios not sure what can be done, it might be an issue with the camera, like overheating. If you could grab the logs just after this happens, that might help to figure out what's going on and potentially make PTP Webcam emit a warning — I know that some cameras are capable of reporting overheating conditions, at least.
I'll try to get some logs tomorrow. It would be a great workaround to detect and reboot the camera. This doesn't solve the problem, but makes it more convenient. Otherwise I have to restart it multiple times manually in one meeting :)
@b-studios you could also see what happens if you just keep a fan pointed at the camera while, it might help cool it down. For regular LiveView timeouts, PTP Webcam will attempt to restart the stream, but the camera will block the restart if it overheats or there's another issue. Though, you should see a warning dialog pop up when that blocking happens, so maybe this is something completely different, after all!
