Feature: Verifying Docker Desktop license on an offline computer

Open cardin opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Tell us about your request A way for users to verify Docker Desktop licensing on an offline computer.

Which service(s) is this request for? Docker Desktop for Windows and Linux

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard? I have a Docker Teams license. I have an offline computer that does not have Internet access. I am trying to use Docker Debug but it is a feature that required login to Internet to verify Docker licensing. As a result I am unable to use Docker Debug.

If I were able to prove that I had a Docker Teams license on an offline machine. Or if the Docker Debug command isn't paywalled by a login. Then I would be able to use Docker Debug.

Are you currently working around the issue? No workarounds.

Additional context Nil.

@cardin Thanks for the feedback. As we think about how to support these scenarios - is your offline computer connected to an internal corporate network or is it fully air-gapped?

@smnovick i have both types of computers: some are connected to an internal corporate network, while some are standalone fully airgapped.
