We're noticing this only on fresh installs of Docker + Kitematic on Mojave. Machines that were upgraded with Docker + Kitematic already installed appear to be fine.

I am experiencing exactly the same problem as described above, but in a laptop with MacOS version: High Sierra / 10.13.3

I had Docker v18.03.1-ce-mac65 (24312) and Kitematic 0.17.2 already installed and working perfectly. I uninstalled them and then installed the latest versions:

Kitematic version: 0.17.5 Docker version : 18.06.1-ce-mac73 (26764)

and then I am having exactly the same problem as @rrmerugu.

The solution seems to be to downgrade to Kitematic v0.17.3

Thanks @ecoto I have MacOs Mojave and have the exact same issue, downgraded to Kitematic v0.17.3 (beta) and everything is working fine ! :)

weird beta is working, and the latest is not. So finally v0.17.3 works fine..

Same problem here, downgrading to v0.17.3 worked. Thanks @ecoto

Same for me. I looked around and found lots of related, if not the same, issues: #4313, #4306, #4278, #4260, #4255, #4253, #4234, #4196... I stopped counting after that. In terms of housecleaning, a fix for this problem would solve a lot of open issues.

Seems a regression from issue #353 (3 years ago) which popped up again.

N.B. Not sure which issue is the best to follow-up but this issue seems to have the most upvotes.

i am on macos High Sierra, just installed kitematic today, I am able to launch the Recommended apps, but if I search for something like tensorflow for example, it shows the spinning circle for a long time.

Same for me! I am using macOS Majove 10.14.1. I already re-installed Kitematic, but unfortunately the error is still present.

Try to downgrading kimatic v 0.17.3 https://github.com/docker/kitematic/releases/download/v0.17.3/Kitematic-0.17.3-Mac.zip

gscamelo avatar Nov 30 '18 12:11 gscamelo

After downgrading Docker now tells me that my version of Kitematic is out of date. Not a solution- or am I missing something you need to do with the downgrade?

+1 same here, fresh macOS 10.14.2 with same issue can not search.

Try to downgrading kimatic v 0.17.3 https://github.com/docker/kitematic/releases/download/v0.17.3/Kitematic-0.17.3-Mac.zip

works for me, but not via drop down, complains that version is out of date.

For me, the issue is now fixed in the release of yesterday with Kitematic v0.17.6. Excellent!

As mentioned in the thread above, this fixes and closes a lot of duplicate issues. /cc @jdrouet

I just installed the latest Mac OS Update (Mojave 10.14.3) and have Docker 2.0.2.0 with the latest download of Kitematic. I cannot tell what the actual Kitematic version is. Until I installed the OS update, Kitematic was working but now it is not. However, after reading the error message it looked as if I needed to reinstall Oracle VirtualBox. Sure enough, once I did that, Kitematic began to work once again.

Any update on this? Still not working for me with macOS 10.14.6

ThomasLaning avatar Sep 08 '19 01:09 ThomasLaning

Still not working (0.7.11 under Win7 x64). Downgrading to Kinematic 0.17.3 works good. O_o
