ARM Builds

Open Botspot opened this issue 3 years ago • 21 comments

Please consider supporting official builds of Docker Desktop for ARM32 and ARM64 platforms. When this happens, it can be added to the Pi-Apps Store.

+1 for this. I'm running an Ubuntu ARM Parallels VM on m1 mac. Also it would help for those who use Asahi Linux

Any updates on this request? ARM is the future, you know.

Updates on supporting ARM? This is a much-needed feature in my shop.

Hi! Is there an rpm build?

erwinfeser avatar Dec 28 '23 11:12 erwinfeser

Just wanted to say I was trying to find a way to use the docker init command and found my way here to install Docker Desktop on my Raspberry Pi 5 running Raspberry Pi OS Lite 64-bit.

I downloaded the file in the link provided by @rafrafek

I then followed the instructions in the Install Docker Desktop on Debian page but substituted the below command:

sudo apt-get install ./docker-desktop-<version>-<arch>.deb

with the below:

sudo apt install ./docker-desktop-4.25.0-arm64.deb

It all worked fine and even got the exact error message it notes to ignore.

I hope this helps someone.

P.S Even though I'm running the Lite version that has no desktop GUI, I still installed gnome-terminal like it said. I don't know if this would work without this step.

as it turns out you don't need docker desktop for linux. Just use the cli

For Asahi Linux Fedora Remix

sudo dnf install docker

but if you want some type of GUI try out lazydocker

I haven't found an RPM arm64 build yet.

I get DEB links by going to https://docs.docker.com/desktop/install/linux-install/

then I go to Ubuntu and then copy the address of the DEB package:

https://desktop.docker.com/linux/main/amd64/149282/docker-desktop-4.30.0-amd64.deb

And then change amd64 to arm64 in two places:

https://desktop.docker.com/linux/main/arm64/149282/docker-desktop-4.30.0-arm64.deb
                                      ^^^^^ ^^^^^
