Additional Info
Reinstalling docker engine and docker desktop (also removed related files to avoid conflicts) didn't solve the issue
same problem over here it crashes whenever i try to build an image and then the docker engine stops working
Same identical issue on: LinuxMint Cinnamon Edge 21.3, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Debian 12.
Update: The problem was due to the docker desktop. When I reinstalled docker-engine only, I could use docker but whenever I installed docker desktop, it broke both docker-engine and docker desktop. So after reinstalling docker without docker desktop, I can use docker fine through the command line.
Same identical issue on: LinuxMint Cinnamon Edge 21.3, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Debian 12.
Solved with last minor release docker-desktop-4.27.2-amd64.deb
