Visual bug when highlighting text in a Jupyter Notebook

This is what the text looks like when the entire cell is highlighted:

It's hard to tell what text is selected. Contrast that with how it looks like with the default theme:

I know the project has been dormant for some time but do you know how this could be fixed? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
