The MK2 has 512K or additional memory that needs to be worked into the design in a way that is compatible with the original VDP, avoids the new memory space carved out by the GPU, and allows 9938 compatible memory.

Consideration also needs to be given to the hopeful possibility that some additional BRAM will be freed up in the original F18A and allocated to VRAM in some compatible way. The Spartan-3E 250K has the potential to offer about 20KiB to 24KiB of VRAM.
