Elegit freezes when using pop-up windows fullscreen (OSX)

When using the "checkout branch", "commit", or "checkout files" pop-up windows on fullscreen, Elegit hangs when completing the action. For example, it freezes when I do the following:

1. Click "Checkout different branch"
2. Make the "Branch Checkout" window fullscreen by clicking the green expand arrows in the top left
3. Select a branch and click "Checkout local branch"

Clicking "cancel" to close the window causes no problem.
