Inquiry: WrapperPlayServerEntityMetadata speaks of a "painting"

I use the PacketWrapper javadoc and wiki.vg in place of official documentation on the MC protocol.

I noticed that WrapperPlayServerEntityMetadata talks about a "painting" that will be spawned. However, I can't seem to understand how there is a painting involved in every entity metadata packet.

Is this a mistake? I might just be missing something.
