mouseover text not displayed for function icons and icon resolution on mac retina

I have a mac (retina display). In your youtube video, short text is displayed when the mouse is hovered over the function icons to explain the function. This does not happen for my installation (anaconda).

The menu bar is initially unresponsive on dataexplore launch. The menu bar focus requires manual mouse clicking on the active terminal window session first. This is not a major problem...only an fyi.

Lastly, the icons are fuzzy on my mac (presumably due to scaling to high dpi).
