Can confirm I have the same issue unfortunately (running 5.5.4-1 on a surface pro 3 and Manjaro)

The WIFI connection is dropped and cannot be recovered (no WIFI entries appear on scan) and the only solution is a restart, or to run nmcli radio wifi off before closing the laptop, and then running nmcli radio wifi on once I open it again (btw, this has to be done manually, every attempt and automating this e.g. via a systemd service doesn't work, despite service running)
