crashes Pidgin

After restarting Pidgin, it set the horizontal size to something like 8000 and crashed the application

I had a similar issue, that I solved by using Extended Preferences and using the "Allow buddy List to shrink below normal size constraints" option

Still doesn't work -- Pidgin starts using all of the available CPU
