OTR menu and button not shown
There seems to be an incompatibility with the Off-the-Record Messaging plugin. The OTR plugin adds its own menu and button to the conversation window, but they are not shown when the Window Merge plugin is enabled.
I don't know whether the problem is in Window Merge or somewhere else; I just wanted to bring this to your attention.
I can't reproduce (all of) this on pidgin 2.10.10-1 in Debian testing/unstable and the latest window merge.
- The OTR menu is not shown in 1-to-1 conversations (XMPP contacts, IRC query...), but is shown in group conversations (IRC rooms). I think it should be the other way around.
- Actually when switching to a 1-to-1 conversation, the OTR menu is briefly shown in the menubar, then disappears.
- The OTR button is displayed and works as expected.
@dm0- are you still maintaining/using this plugin? This is a minor bug.
I still use the plugin (although not with OTR), but I haven't looked into updating it for a while. It reached a point where I'd hit a wall with anything I tried to add or fix, where I'd need to modify actions Pidgin has hardcoded in inaccessible static functions, or GTK doesn't expose a pointer I'd need to read, or some part of the GTK API is too recent to be in the Windows build, or some other perpetual problem.
But since it's been a while, I suppose I can take another look and maybe have better luck this time. I'll install OTR and fight with this again when I have a minute.
I've been getting what @nodiscc is describing. Has there been any investigation to this at all? This would be really great if it was fixed.
@Xylemon AFAIK this plugin is no longer maintained (last update 2013)
