With simplePyBLE are you doing write with response or write without response? Does the Bluetooth packet log look the same for both?

This is happening at the OS level, so probably not anything we can do about it from Bleak. Not sure what else to suggest other than trying a different Bluetooth...

The official guide works for most people, so to figure out your problem you would need to figure out what is different about your computer compared to everyone else.
