Doesn't work in gVim on Arch either. The latest commit from Dec 5, 2018 seems to have broken something. The previous commit from 2017 works fine for me.

It does look like it's an issue with connect-livereload, but the thread linked by @eekboom mentions a workaround in the form of adding an `ignore: ['.pdf']` option. I couldn't figure...
