Use less strikes in sbix font

The sbix font has a lot of strikes: 1024, 512, 256, 128, 96, 72, 40, 32 and 20. If the design isn't different between strikes (e.g. less detail at smaller sizes), wouldn't it be more efficient to keep just the 1024px one and have it scale down?
