I've already stated that HMR is not a solution for me. Stating that it is and therefore HMR is enough is not helping.

I suspect this is a good fix! Any chance you could rebase and push again, to get the updated statuses to pass?

There aren't a lot of developers working on Taskwarrior at the moment (probably an average of less than one at any time..) so no, it's unlikely this will be worked...

The taskchampion sync model will not have this problem. At this point, that's the most likely path to resolution for this issue.

Yes, 3.0 has an entirely new sync system. There's an open issue to mark it as deprecated - #3293. The alternatives are outlined in the `task-sync(5)` manpage -- cloud sync...
