run demo failed
hello, I'm new to Android. I git clone this Sample demo and want to run it. However, it doesn't work.
The original project set the gradle version to 6.2.1. But according to AS hint, it suggests me upgrading the gradle version to 7.2 or later. So, I do it. After download gradle 7.2, I got the error below:
Caused by: org.gradle.api.internal.tasks.DefaultTaskContainer$TaskCreationException: Could not create task ':app:minifyDebugWithR8'.

I would like to inform you that the Gradle version can be configured in the Project Structure settings. It is possible to set it to the same version as mine, which is 6.7.1. Additionally, the Android Gradle Plugin Version can also be set to 4.2.2.

I re-download the sample code. And I still got this error. Is that related to my AS version? My AS version is: Android Studio Giraffe | 2022.3.1 Patch 2

Did you solve this problem? I use the same AS version. I tried many versions of Gradle and I find using gradle 7.2 will successfully configure this app, but I don't know if it works on your situation. And if there is a better solution hope someone can tell me please.
