Gravatars are now usable in place of an avatar url Added docs and refactored them a bit

Hey @bexelbie! Thanks for the contributions :+1: I merged the ones that were easy to merge and will revisit these when I have a little more time

@djfarrelly cool. Your input on #19, in particular is desired. I am not seeing an obvious way to pass the setting into the view. I am also not a node programmer normally so I suspect a pointer to the right resource and me spending some time reading is what is in order.

I have a patch I have submitted to add nconf which I was hoping would fix this, but did not.

rebased this patch.
