Update Code of Conduct team
We need to update our Code of Conduct membership since everything is out of date.
- [x] Update Google Group's membership
- [ ] Update Google Drive access
- [x] Update GitHub Team access
- [x] Update membership in our Code of Conduct Working Group charter
- [ ] Update our Slack Group
For GitHub, we need to add:
- [x] @mclarknc (our chair)
- [x] @ckirby (DSF President and board liaison)
- [x] @kjaymiller
- [x] @dryan
- [x] @thibaudcolas
- [x] Add Elena Williams
- [x] Remove @mclarknc (our past chair)
Yay! I’d love to be more involved with this given the chance.
I believe I also believe that I am also supposed to be added to the working group per @ckirby's message of my approval
Hey leaving a comment as @jefftriplett asked for
Just noting my understanding of who can do what from Jeff’s list:
- Google Groups & Drive will be Ops team I believe or Chaim?
- GitHub Team I don’t know – Ops team I presume
- Slack group I don’t know
Things I can do is update the membership in the different areas:
- [ ] Update membership in our Code of Conduct Working Group charter
- [x] Same update for https://github.com/django/code-of-conduct/blob/main/membership.md
- [ ] Same update for https://www.djangoproject.com/foundation/committees/#conduct
- I can also announce the new membership on https://www.djangoproject.com/weblog/ if it helps since this seems like quite a big rotation
I reached out to ops and Chaim to get the GitHub org info worked out. Chaim didn't have access either so we'll see what they say. (they are normally super fast)
@mclarknc now has access and I got a bump to maintainer.
That doesn't quite give me enough access to invite people but maybe @mclarknc can follow up with some invites.
@mclarknc now has access, but we can't add @kjaymiller and @dryan yet because they aren't part of the GH org.
I just emailed DSF Ops to see if they can add you both. Please be on the lookout for Django Org invites.
@jefftriplett 👋 thought I’d check in where this is at. Anything we can do to help with the remaining tasks? I can’t see the membership or any of the aspects of coc-committee
, so looks like things have moved along but not clear how far.
@thibaudcolas The GitHub portion is complete.
I think we @mclarknc's help on the Google side of things.
I suggest we figure out a time to meet to nail the rest down since it feels like our membership is still in flux.
@thibaudcolas pinged DSF Ops and you today.
Hello! Happy to be involved. Confirming I'm here. I'll await pending Google Drive permission (that is: I don't think I have access to it yet).
Will do some background now, in particular I'm looking out for conversation about rejuvenating the Code itself (note: the PSF code is a great standard for an applicable CoC and seems to have gotten ahead of the Django version), but these things all in good time.
I checked a few more checkboxes today but could use @thibaudcolas's help for a few of the DSF ones I don't have access too.
To get our Google docs in order, I think we will need to recreate them under a new owner. That's not in the cards for me today though but maybe we can poll and schedule a time to meet in the next week or two?
