dogfood
We need to track breakage as it happens, so we need to dogfood this and test some basic things. Ideally we would want a test for every officially support blocktype in std proper so that we know none of them break for a given changeset.
As PRs are starting to come in, this is gonna be important to make sure we are not constantly breaking things.

The practical question will be if #2, #11 & #12 will require the change of any api in breaking ways.
