Add support for opening remote images

Can you please elaborate a bit? What exactly do you mean by "remote"? I just tried opening an image from an SMB share (\MyShare\Foo) in Windows and that worked fine.

I'm guessing that they would like to be able to open an image given a URI which I would think is outside the scope of this package.
