The project is build on laravel 5.7 and PHP version 7.1.3. There is lots of breaking changes after release of 7.1.3 till PHP 8.0. If you need to run you need to use the mentioned php version or you need upgrade laravel version as well php version. You can use Laravel Shift or you can use laravel documentation to upgrade Laravel Documentation. My suggestion is to use latest laravel version, there is lots of vulnerability issues on lower versions, you can check pull requests as well.
