Dejalu is not compliant with Google data privacy requirements
I just got a notification email from Google on all of the Gmail accounts that I monitor using Dejalu:
Limiting data access to data in your Google Account
Although you don’t need to take any action, we wanted to let you know that the following third-party apps will no longer be able to access some data in your Google Account, including your Gmail content. This change will go into effect starting March 31, 2019.
DejaLu
We are making this change as part of ongoing efforts to make sure your data is protected and private. These apps haven’t yet complied with our updated data privacy requirements announced on October 8, 2018.
You can always view, manage and remove apps you’ve given access to your account by visiting your Google Account.
Thanks, The Google Accounts team
Are the authors of Dejalu aware that it is not compliant with Google's present API requirements, and are there any plans currently to modify the application to meet these requirements?
Dejalu has been a good alternative desktop email client for me, being relatively lightweight and using the least disk space for cache out of any application that I've tried; but if I'm not going to be able to access my accounts in two weeks, I'd like to know so I can start looking for another. Thank you in advance for clarifying the state of the project.
Last deadline passed without issues, but got another mail yesterday:
If these apps are unable to meet the deadline to comply with our updated data policy requirements, they'll lose access to your Account starting July 15th, 2019.
@dinhviethoa is there anything we can do?
use the imap option it works
I received one of these notifications from Google on 30 June 2020, stating that DejaLu would be denied access to gmail data starting 8 July 2020. Hopefully the app password will continue working after that date.
well looks like it no longer works :( tried imap using app password and it does not sync after adding account :)
For me, the app password stopped working yesterday (13-July). Today I was able to use two-factor sign on to my google accounts. Thanks!

Could you try the regular 2-factor authentication?
