Loading a world from the Modrinth app's "Worlds" tab with the RRLS mod renders the game upside down

Open floatayy opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

Minecraft version.

Java Edition 1.21.5 (Fabric 0.6.14)

Remove Reloading Screen version.

5.1.3 and up

What happened?

A new Modrinth app update (0.9.4) added a "Worlds" tab that can be enabled in the Feature flags section in Settings, which works a bit like Quick Play in the vanilla launcher where you could load the game in any world or server straight from the Modrinth app itself. However, upon joining a world with this new feature, I noticed that the game was showing entities or the whole view upside down, then I went to disable my mods one by one to determine what mod could've caused this and I found out that disabling RRLS reverts the game view the right side up.

Relevant log.

Game launched via the Modrinth Worlds tab https://mclo.gs/OwV78D0 Game launched normally https://mclo.gs/AgR4AMG

Additional information.

The Modrinth instance from which I generated the latest.log file only contains RRLS and its dependencies in a test world, and for a further test, I installed and enabled/disabled Sodium too as shown in the screenshots below.

The game does render fine when the game is launched normally, this only specifically occurs when using the Worlds tab feature in Modrinth to launch the game. As a side note though, I have not seen the issue occur upon launching a world or server in Forge 1.20.1, RRLS 4.0.6.1.

On a further side note, when Sodium is enabled along with RRLS, the game view does appear to be normal but all entities are still rendered as though they're upside down and the block selection outline is also completely missing.

At all times, RRLS was in its default settings.

  • Screenshot n.1 shows the game under normal conditions (RRLS disabled if I launch the game via the Worlds tab in Modrinth, or RRLS enabled if I launch the game normally)
  • Screenshot n.2 shows the game when RRLS is enabled and it's launched via the Worlds tab in Modrinth
  • Screenshot n.3 shows the game when RRLS and Sodium are enabled and it's launched via the Worlds tab in Modrinth (how I saw the game when I first encountered the issue)

Another seemingly related issue that also happens with Modrinth App's quickplay: https://github.com/modrinth/code/issues/3559#issuecomment-2833576944

I marked the comment resolved, because it is not related to this issue and it uses 1.21.3, which is no longer supported by this mod The crash from there was also fixed in 1.21.4+
