Slow performance (about 35 Mbps from memory hit)

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB memory, Core i3-3225 @ 3.30 GHz, Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD. Squid and my browser runs on same computer.

I download multiple times same 100 MB file but max speeed is always about 35 Mbps. 27.0.0.1 TCP_MEM_HIT/200 104858017 GET http://speedtest.tele2.net/100MB.zip - HIER_NONE/- application/zip CPU utilization for two squid.exes is 0 - 1 %. Total CPU utilization is about 5 % during download.

I'm using default config parameters except http_port 8080 maximum_object_size 256 MB cache_mem 512 MB maximum_object_size_in_memory 128 MB

Is the Windows build of Squid inefficient or what is the problem?

I have been testing with Firefox, Chrome and IE.

Hello Taismi,

Sorry we only build Squid installer. All internal workings are better answered by squid developers.

I heard there are some internal limitations on the windows platform indeed.

Best regards, Rafael Akchurin

Thanks.

If someone else has measured performance in Windows it would be nice hear about achieved speeds.
