Especially bad in combination with `--follow`, as `~/Library/Containers` (Mac) contains thousands of symlinks to directories like `~/Pictures` or `~/Music`, which themselves can have tens of thousands of files in it....

For me, it remembers window size, unless I maximized it. If it was maximized last time, it will open its default small size. Not depending on how I closed it...

-1 Preferences have been opening in new windows for ages, and it is great that way.

The same applies to the cache directory as well. I have my `$XDG_CACHE_HOME` set to `~/Library/Caches` instead of `~/.cache` for not having to tell my backup tools an extra directory...
