Can't commit due to `env: node: No such file or directory`.

I was just trying out atomagit, and it looks pretty slick so far—but I can't get it to commit. Once I finish typing my commit message and save, a box appears at the bottom of the screen that says: env: node: No such file or directory.

I have a suspicion that this has something to do with my own git pre-commit hooks, but they run fine from the command line. Perhaps it has something to do with OS X's handling of $PATH within GUI applications? (I'm afraid I don't know details; I just know it can be odd.) Or perhaps it is because I have node installed via nodebrew?
