Reintroduce XML input/output

What went on with XML support as discussed in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/droid-list/odOGT7ccn2I and that was dropped in DROID 6?

Please reintroduce it. CSV export yields less information and is less structured than XML.

XML is required e.g. by the Preservation Toolkit and DROID plugins developed for the EPrints repositories.

Thanks for raising this again - appreciate this was raised some time ago on the Google groups but it is something we still intend to look at further in the roadmap for future DROID development. Meanwhile the next release of DROID does include changes that mean the existing csv output will potentially run much faster on large profiles, and the reworking of the code involved will be helpful in potentially adding other output formats in future. This issue has been added to the DROID backlog, it will be assigned an appropriate priority but is unlikely to be included in the next release.
