Able to publish to AWS IoT shadow document with umqtt, but unable to get any subscribes to work. Has anyone had any successes with subscribes?

I have been unable to get anything to work. Every Digi sample fails with "OSError: [Errno 7115] EINPROGRESS" Can you post working code? Which ca cert cert worked?

MicroPython v1.12-1538-ge62c947 on 2020-09-08; XBC LTE Cat 1 Verizon with EFM32G
