MIDI support

There are some good synth programs for the Apple IIgs and it would probably not be incredibly difficult to add MIDI support if modern hardware interfaces have some easily portable C lib.

Synthlab (Mark Cecys and Lee Collings) had possibly the best IIgs MIDI implementation audio-wise. Their documentation is a good starting point for the de facto MIDI application of the period. https://mirrors.apple2.org.za/apple.cabi.net/Music.and.Sound/synthLAB.Ref.Manual.txt

What kind of MIDI hardware interface would need to be supported? USB<->MIDI adapters and Arduino MIDI shields come to mind, but is there a defacto MIDI interface for the PI?
