@njalkane Unfortunately you will probably have to wait either for somebody to make open-source drivers for your device (you can also try if you're into coding) or wait until Apple will make their closed-source drivers available on linux & windows. That's why new MacBooks aren't recommended because they want to keep everything closed.

@njalkane https://github.com/cb22/macbook12-spi-driver/

Simply by googling. You'll have to learn googling

As explained in this blogpost we have an ongoing story to upgrade the Abitti image to Debian Buster. Within this story we're also bringing new kernel version to the image.

We have studied the MCMrARM driver during the spring. As explained in the blog post, we couldn't upgrade the live image during the COVID-19 situation and its effect on Abitti use. Currently the driver does not work with 2020 MacBooks but should solve the driver issues with the 2019 and earlier models.

@njalkane The Debian Buster based Abitti is out as beta: https://www.abitti.fi/blogi/2020/10/uusi-abitti-versio-beta-testikaytossa/

At the moment the MCMrARM does not appear to work out-of-the-box with our new kernel versions 5.4 and 5.8 but we keep trying. Please follow the beta releases!

There is almost zero hope for getting the WiFi to work. Our 2019 MacBook has Broadcom wireless chip which requires firmware to operate. However, there is no open source firmware for this. When we approached the company for a license to distribute their firmware they kindly asked us to contact the hardware manufacturer.

But it would be nice to get the keyboard, touchpad and audio to work.
