Build a base of core maintainers by granting write access to this repo

Open sidneys opened this issue 10 years ago • 4 comments

Because this project represents a central building block of many Ionic-based build workflows, the recent cease of activity is worrying a lot of downstream users, especially given the increased activity within the Ionic project. My recent PR thus represents a combination of all current fixes from the most active forks to make a stress free start easier.

In the case that you, @diegonetto - the author of this invaluable & awesome piece of software - need assistance in maintaining the codebase, it would be relieving if you could grant write access to the (see "Pull Requests") maintainers of the most active forks, such as https://github.com/JaKXz. Thus, this project will keep on living.

Thanks for your time & an awesome tool!

@SidneyS thank you for the kind words, support, and suggestions.

I'm in the process of finishing up a book on AngularJS (http://www.amazon.com/Professional-AngularJS-Valeri-Karpov/dp/1118832078) with @vkarpov15 (MongoDB engineer who coined the term MEAN stack and maintainer of https://github.com/learnboost/mongoose/) and another one on the IonicFramework, which we are working on with Drifty directly.

I'm about two weeks out on wrapping up both of these books, and could definitely use help maintaining this project. However, after several discussions with Drifty, I believe this project is going to need a serious refactor before a big 1.0.0 release so that it is more compatible with Drifty's tooling and project structure.

I'm moving to LA next week, but intend on starting a new issue with a longer post with a proposed vision so that we, as a community, can discuss how this project should progress.

Until we lockdown what should be part of the 1.0.0 release, let's hold off on on-boarding new maintainers. I will go through the existing PR's and see what we can get merged in and released today.

Congrats on the book @diegonetto. We used this generator heavily and have added / modified our app now to be a bit different than the original setup. If I can be of any help in providing use-cases or other feedback on what we're using, what we're not, and what we'd like to see in terms of integrating ionic's cli and this generator then please let me know.

Hi, thanks @diegonetto for this awesome generator but I think it would be great if you add more people to the repository, like @SidneyS and other people that can contribute and are interested in improve it and fix issues

The current status of this projects seems a bit abandoned :disappointed: Open issues and PR are more and more every time and tools like ionic and cordova are evolving

I hope my words are not being misinterpreted. I really thank all the great work and love this project
