I am using DICe to analyze strain in SPC270 steel specimens subjected to deformation under a Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and would like to clarify some aspects of its functionality and optimal parameter selection.

  1. I would like your recommendations on the optimal subset size for my analysis. I have attached sample images of the specimens I am working with for your reference.

  2. Based on the subset size, what would be the appropriate step size and gauge size to use in order to obtain accurate strain measurements while minimizing noise?

  3. Could you provide more information about the ssig threshold and shape function that appropriate for my sample images?

I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations you can provide, as they would be extremely helpful for my research.
