Bug: Account suspended 2 times since the last update (0.0.32)
Hi! I'm creating this issue because since January, I am currently facing account suspensions because of spam.
I hope that the problem comes from Discord, that maybe improved their anti-spam measures, but since Dissent recently integrated a patch that should prevent triggering this, I am asking myself if Dissent has something to do with that...

This is quite concerning.
Dissent has this patch in place to prevent people from DMing newly added people, as that immediately triggers an account warning from Discord.
It looks like you seemingly got these warnings out of nowhere, though. I suspect that if you knew that DMing others would immediately raise a warning, then the change would've been a bit more obvious.
Unfortunately, there's really not much I could help with in this case unless you could actually pin down these warnings to a particular action that you did.
For me, i logged in with a newly created token (aka one i just made in a web browser on my pc)
then on my phone i put it in, logged in and then dmed 1 person i have dmed on that account for ages.
I send a few msgs, a msg with 5 images, a few more msgs and then i got that, where i had to verify my account got logged out etc.

Hey, I recently experienced this as well. I was suddenly logged out of all devices, and forced to verify my phone number. Since then, I've had an infraction on my account regarding spam.
I faced this problem especially after sending images, maybe something to follow concerning these mysterious account suspensions?
I'm pretty certain this is related to sending an image using dissent, but I'm not sure why. My only guess is it will still try sending an image even if your account isn't permitted to send one above 8-10mb. Whereas the discord app doesn't do this? I know on mobile it compresses all media sent, maybe even if the media isn't ultimately sent it still flags as untrustworthy.
I'm sorry, I wish I could provide more insight, I didn't even know of the violation till today, but it happened about a month ago. I will try appealing but I doubt this will be appealed successfully.

I appealed both times, and even directly asked the support about what triggered their anti-spam, but the only thing I received is a "Nope, ur suspended. I'm true ur wrong" (appealing rejected + no response)
That's interesting. This is definitely a lot more actionable, so I'll try to fix it soon.
I can't remember if Dissent guards for image sizes so that's not a good indicator. I believe Arikawa does, but it currently just cuts the connection which is a lot more suspicious, so that behavior should be fixed as well.

My account was already suspended before the appealing, I don't think Discord will worsen your situation by requesting a human review
Luckily, while losing my account would suck, I'm not too invested into anything.
@diamondburned this seems pretty serious, maybe consider a pin on this issue?
Also maybe possibly restricting sending any images or media unless a user accepts a dialog or toggles a switch in settings. I'd hate for this to happen to someone else.
It's not a Proof of impossibility, but I sent a lot of images the last several days, without any suspension!😃
Not sure, but spoofing the HTTP headers and identify payload might help:
