I think that sounds really complicated to implement. I'm not sure if I should really attempt that.

The "filename or extension is too long" problem should've been fixed long ago (see https://github.com/diamondburned/gotk4/issues/43). I'm not sure why it's not fixed. I'll leave this issue open for now since...
What's your `go env GOPATH`?

What commit are you on? It shouldn't crash on `simple`.
This looks to be a completely different bug. Can you run it in gdb and show me the stack trace of the thread?
