Use UTF8 Block Characters to increase "Resolution"

You could use the utf8 block chars such as U+2596 > U+259F to both increase the "resolution" by dividing each character into 4 quadrants, and having control of them individually, although you would be giving up the ability to dither with U+2591 > U+2593.
