Ubuntu 14.04 reaching end of life

Since Ubuntu 14.04 is reaching end of life soon, will the tool be supported with 16.04? What is the best version to use?

We successfully got it working on ubuntu 16 (kernel 4.15) and are working towards pushing the updated code.
