Describe The Bug
Hi there
In homebridge I have my doorbell over home bridge-ring visible. But can't see the doorbell in my HomeKit. So the problem is, somebody rings on the doorbell and I get the notification "someone's at the door" but I can't deactivate the notification because in HomeKit is no device to deactivate the notification. Is it a bug or my config error?
How can I deactivate the notification for the doorbell in HomeKit?
Can anybody help me?
Thx

I am interested in this as well, but rather because I do not receive doorbell notifications in HomeKIt.
Cameras/Doorbells must be added to Homekit as standalone accessories, they do not appear as part of the bridge. Did you do this?
Hi,
i installed Ring Intercom at my door opening system. I installed homebridge-ring and connected it to ring. I defined a childprocess connected it to HomeKit.
What must I do to connect the "doorbell" as standalone?
Thx for advice.
Please be specific in your wording when referring to your device, Ring Intercom is not the same as a Ring Doobell. The original Ring Intercom did not have a video component and the current intercom support in homebridge-ring does not have any support for video.
It's possible that video support for the new Ring Video Intercom might come in the future, but most likely only if someone creates a PR. For now, only the basic features are supported.
Unfortunately, Homekit support for non-video doorbells is very limited, thus why you are not able to control notifications, this is already discussed in other issues. There is a PR https://github.com/dgreif/ring/pull/1589, which adds a way to turn it off on plugin side, but this was not merged and likely needs updates to be compatible with current versions. I can't make any promises if it will ever be supported, but if someone refreshes the PR, I think we'd be willing to consider it.
No. I don‘t say anything about Video.
I have Ring intercom. Over Homebridge-Ring everythings works Fine. But Ring Interkom is shown in HomeKit only as Home Door. So i can Open The Door with HomeKit. In Homebridge there are to devices for Ring Interkom. The door where i can Open it an The Door Bell (Not visible in Homekit) Everything is Fine but i get two notifications when someone ring at the door (Ring intercom). One from Ring App and one from HomeKit. And every person in my home gets the door bell notification.
So I what HomeKit Not Send notifications for someone Ring the doorbell. But it is not visible in HomeKit so i can‘t Turn of notification for this device.
Is something wrong in my config? And i don‘t want to use any Video.
Please help

Please reopen it
I already explained that this isn't possible today. Homekit is responsible for notification, not this plugin. Homekit does not fully support non-video doorbells (it expects all doorbells to be video doorbells). Without this, Homekit won't show the camera device which is where you can control notificaiton.
Again, it is discussed in mulitple threads and is a known limitation with Homekit. We've discussed several workarounds, such as having a dummy video device, but so far, none are implemented and, currently, none are planned.
Nobody that maintains this project has a Ring Intercom, nor are we likely to have them, so any improvement will likely need to come from users submitting a PR.
Ok. Undestand. Sorry.
