Multiple rippings with icedax simultaneously
Today I wanted to rip an audio cd, but soundkonverter tried to rip multiple tracks simultaneously.
It simply started the next track, when it was not finished ripping the previous one. Perhaps something problem with progress-update-information?
However, that should never happen.
What version are you using? Is this problem reproducible? In case you are using master, a switch to the fixes-2.1 branch might help. I think there is something wrong with commit f698317 but I haven't had time to verify that.
I use recent 2.1.90 from your opensuse repo. it is reproducable. also with cdparanoia as backend.
It seems to rip a track completly, but then the status does not change to "encoding", but stays in ripping mode and begins from start, and simultaneously the next track begins ripping and so on..
Please downgrade to version 2.1.2. I will remove version 2.1.90 from the repo until I have the time to fix the broken commit.
Unfortunately I can't reproduce the bug. Could you please be as descriptive as possible. Does it happen every time or only sometimes? Did you convert/rip files before this happened without restarting soundkonverter? Are more files in the file list other than the tracks from the cd? Could you please send me your configuration file (~/.kde4/share/config/soundkonverterrc). What conversion options are you using?

One thing, that comes in my mind: I later used another tool (kio slave) to rip the cd. There I got the problem, that in the cddb-titles there were "?" characters, which could not be written in the filenames to my fat32 partition, I had to configure the settings to replace these chars with something else. May this be a problem in soundkonverter? So what happens, if soundkonverter can't write a file?
I have found a problem - probably the one you are describing - but it's hard to fix. Luckily in your case it might be as simple as enabling the "Always use FAT compatible output file names" check box on the "advanced" tab in the config dialog. My guess is that the encoder fails to write the file and soundkonverter tries to re-rip the track at which point the next track is already being ripped. You could verify this by looking at the log for one of the tracks with the log viewer. On top of that the detection of the fat file system would have to fail. You can see the detected file system in the mentioned log (pretty much at the top). It would be nice if you could have a look at it.
Oh, I did not know about that option. I guess it will work in the future.
