its getting this message when i create a directory

$ mkdir build mkdir: cannot create directory ‘build’: File exists

what was this lmao anyway The 2nd step (the one that begins with ./configure) will make it for you. In my experience, if you make the build directory yourself, it will fail, whether you CD into it or not. So skip the mkdir and cd part. Don't forget the "make" at the end, it's easy to miss!!! Good luck!

Maybe you already created the build folder using Finder? If not, then try deleting it, then use the mkdir build command.
