You had to fork application_ruby, but it's been five months. What's the status of that and is there a way to work around it or make some noise to get it pulled?

I wasn't able to find the PR on https://github.com/opscode-cookbooks/application_ruby/pulls

Maybe using rbenv cookbook instead of ruby is a better idea. There are also recent 2.X.X versions available....
